Private Dog Training Lessons

Private lessons provide one-on-one instruction and direct owner participation. Depending on the selected package, training may include foundational obedience, calming and decompression techniques, socialization, pack leadership skills, advanced commands, or off-leash work. 

Available options include the Basic Starter Package, Basic Private Lesson Program, Advanced Private Lesson Program, and combined Basic and Advanced packages. Depending on the selected package, lessons may include come, sit, extended sit, down, extended down, place, extended place, loose-leash heel, off, extended-distance obedience, and advanced commands such as watch, through, front, and stand. Separate lesson-based behavior-modification and in-home packages are also available. 

Advanced private lessons require completion of an eligible obedience course or Board and Train program. Geographic limits may apply to the separate in-home lesson packages.

Board and Train Programs

Board and Train provides an immersive training format with structured instruction over a defined period. Obedience programs are available in two-, four-, and five-week formats, while behavior-modification Board and Train options are available in four-, eight-, and ten-week formats. 

  • 2 Week Foundation Board and Train: Designed for dogs that need foundational on-leash and off-leash obedience without behavior-modification needs. Skills addressed may include sit, down, place, recall, loose-leash walking, greeting manners, and door manners.
  • 4 Week Elite Board and Train: An extended immersive obedience program featuring customized training, structured habit development, on-leash and off-leash obedience, owner education, and a graduation certificate.
  • 5 Week Complete Board and Train: Includes customized obedience training, training around distractions, structured repetition in real-world environments, and an AKC Canine Good Citizen test. The program includes the test; passing and certification remain subject to applicable requirements.

Puppy Training and Socialization

The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Package includes six weekly positive-reinforcement group sessions. Topics include potty training, nutrition, first aid, vaccination schedules, positive behavior shaping, socialization, imprinting, and commands such as come, sit, place, heel, and down. Testing for AKC S.T.A.R. certification is provided during the final class.

The online puppy training course covers potty training, crate training, confidence building, pack leadership, basic commands taught through marker-and-reward methods, and common puppy problems. Standard basic obedience begins at five months because of the dog’s growth and socialization window.

Group Obedience Classes
